!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
This time it’s a 1998 C43 with a broken transmission and peeling paint for $850. I ran across it while searching for a W140. I didn’t find any W140s, but this is interesting.
Any thoughts on whether or not fixing this thing is worth it?

Fair and to the point. I like it.

“HVAC needs recharging”
er, yeah, after you fix what caused the refrigerant to leave in the first place...

I am of the opinion that the W202 is one of the better looking sedans MB has made, and certainly the best of the 90's.
That being said, this could still be a nightmare. The first AMGs are not nearly as bad, but the neglect likely associated with this car’s condition would probably make it a bad decision.

I like to be the contrarian... Yes. $850 is “what the hell” money, the transmission is a very stout unit that probably is salvageable, and at the very least it could be parted to recoup the cost. Or, it could be a really fun beater!

Ah man, I know a guy with a W140 S500L for sale! But it’s probably several thousand miles away and RHD.

I’d buy it if it weren’t 2500 miles away.

The shitty rims say “I spent all my money on these shitty rims so I couldnt afford to maintain or fix ANYTHING”
